My professional background
I completed my education at the University of Michigan and Nova Southeastern University, followed by an internship at Skyland Trail, a nationally recognized mental health treatment organization in Atlanta, Georgia. After relocating to Huntsville, I served as a Program Director at the Mental Health Center of North Central Alabama, where I oversaw clinical operations at the Decatur-Morgan Counseling Center. I dedicated nine years of my career to treating individuals with serious mental illness, and as a National Health Service Corps Alumni, successfully fulfilled my commitment to serving one of America’s communities with limited access to care. I’m an active member of the Alabama Counseling Association, the Association for Applied Sport Psychology, and the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals.
I’ve developed a specialization in treating those who suffer from depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia, and have direct experience working with people at each and every stage of these illnesses. In addition, I have a special interest in working with busy, high-achieving individuals and the issues they face (Career & Stress Management, Sport Performance & Performance Anxiety, Perfectionism, Work-Family Conflict, Demanding Schedules, Food & Body Image Issues, Self-esteem, and The Imposter Phenomenon). In a safe and supportive environment, I help my clients regain a sense of adequacy, balance, and understanding, which ultimately leads to more fulfilling relationships, improved life satisfaction, and better health.
